1. Start by introducing the two dogs on neutral ground, such as a park.
2. Let the older dog set the pace. Allow the two dogs to sniff each other and get used to one another.
3. Separate the dogs if either of them becomes aggressive or overly excited.
4. Make sure the puppy is well-behaved and not jumping or nipping.
5. Provide plenty of treats and praise for both dogs when they interact in a calm and friendly manner.
6. Take walks together and gradually increase the time they spend together.
7. Supervise all interactions between the two dogs until they become comfortable with each other.
