1. Brush your dogs coat. Start with a slicker brush to remove any tangles or mats, then use a bristle brush to remove any excess fur.
2. Trim your dogs nails. If your dogs nails are too long, use a nail clipper to trim them.
3. Clean your dogs ears. Use a cotton ball or a soft cloth to wipe the inside of your dogs ears, being careful not to insert anything into the ear canal.
4. Bathe your dog. Use a shampoo specifically designed for dogs, and make sure to rinse thoroughly.
5. Brush your dogs teeth. Use a toothbrush and toothpaste designed for dogs, and brush in a circular motion.
6. Check your dog for fleas and ticks. Use a flea comb to check for fleas, and check for ticks by running your hands over your dogs body.
