1. Provide plenty of chew toys and rotate them regularly to keep them interesting.
2. Keep items that the dog shouldn’t chew out of reach.
3. Make sure the dog is getting enough exercise and mental stimulation.
4. Create a negative association with chewing. For example, when the dog starts to chew something they shouldn’t, say “No” in a firm voice and give them a toy to chew instead.
5. Reward the dog when they chew their toys instead of other items.
6. If the chewing persists, consult with a veterinarian to rule out any medical issues.
